Favorite track: Prélude à la Drache en La dièse mineur.
AVERSES is the album that started everything with Déhà's new band, DRACHE. Being too different from what the band became, he decided to release this material as his own, instead of Drache.
"It's too different in composition, and in a way, the vocals, even if I found it right there, while doing this album. AVERSES is more... melancholic and nostalgic in all ways, Drache is not. So this deserved a stand alone release!" - D
This is atmospheric black metal, a raw way, in a more "chill" mood but not only. It's a vestige!
this album really is such a emotional hit, you can feel the pain behind it and it really makes you just want to lay in bed, turn all the lights off and just say "damn, where iam i going in life?" black_metal_femboy
Like the winter landscape of the cover, this black metal group are less about bludgeon and speed, and more about stark, frozen atmosphere - no better exemplified than in the melancholy beauty of opener "Cold".
None's sound reminds me a little of Taake, but the ambient synth parts could have come out of a lot of 90s era television shows that were horror or thriller based. A terrific debut. nightskald
This is a beautifully scorching multilayered atmospheric black metal album that I loved at first listen and still grows on me even more with every spin. From beginning to end it doesnt let up with the riffs and the multi howl attack. Im looking forward to the next one and really anything Mare Cognitum is involved in. stevenbeverage
