Poesy Rider Un album-titre qui présente un double avantage : Le premier est que musicalement c'est excellent. Le chant lyrique et la voix façon Pensées nocturnes collent parfaitement à cette composition. Il y aurait beaucoup à dire là-dessus... Le deuxième avantage découle directement du premier : moi qui suis un collectionneur compulsif ; pour une fois je ne ressens pas le besoin impératif de me procurer le vinyle car, une fois le morceau lancé, je ne voudrais surtout pas que ça s'arrête avant la fin...

'Ave Maria II' is the direct sequel to the original 'Ave Maria' from Déhà's older side project, Yhdarl. As time went on, Yhdarl was not suited anymore to fit this better produced masterpiece of ultra emotional funeral doom metal. Under his own name, Déhà got together with fantastic soprano Madicken De Vries to offer the world what he considers his best work to date in his career. A man showing his mother and her symbolic (celestial or not) beings what the world truly is, and how she did not prevent such downfall.

Crushing, vocal-driven funeral doom metal with the biggest heart-rending emotional screams you'll ever hear, "Ave Maria II" is not for everyone : it will make you dig your own hole until you consider it as your only home, until any ray of light blinds you.

Merci Déhà for the download code. Lots of bands use these ingredients – pretty female vocals over doomy guitars always sounds good, but usually that's where the ideas run out. That isn't the case here. Each song is packed with ideas and evolutions, genres and references it's boring to list but not at all to listen to. A pleasure to have been introduced to this. Luke

NONE a opéré un virage dans Where Life Should Be et ça se confirme davantage dans Damp Chill of Life. Le temps des métaphores est révolu : l'humidité froide, c'est celle des larmes qui coulent sur le visage à cause de la dépression. Tout pleure dans cet album : les guitares typées DSBM grésillent, les solos ("The Damp Chill of Life", "It's Painless To Let Go") sont liquides et coulent, les voix prennent à la gorge ; même le piano, étranglé par les sanglots ("Cease"), est aphone.
