bcb723 When I was a kid, my parents bought an Oldsmobile car that came with a cassette of 80s pop hits (think "Almost Paradise" & "Time After Time"). Over time the tape got warped, faded and slowed down on playback. I loved the way that shit sounded because the slowed melodies created a whole new world of music in my imagination. Crazily enough, the music on "No More Dawn" by Déhà comes closest to the feeling created by that holy grail tape. Like an epic & torn sound disintegrated by years in the sun

about

The next installment from the "A Fleur de Peau" series is a special one. NO MORE DAWN is almost a bright sequel to "Burdening Everyone" : a long, unaltered 60min track, drenched in reverb and repetitive leitmotifs, extreme screams and harsh cleans singing.

The feelings of this albums are definitely opposed : between almost luminous melodies and black metal, NMD is an album to be listened to alone, on headphones or loud volume, while watching the ceiling and simply focus on life and why life.

2021, we're nowhere close to a solution concerning the global pandemic. It is of course normal that people feel that there's no solution. "No More Dawn" is the hymn and tribute to the ones lost.
